NBN HD Fibre Voice
Montimedia is pleased to offer our NBN customers our new NBN HD Fibre VoIP (Voice Over Internet) phone service.
Similar to the ‘traditional’ landline phone service our NBN HD Fibre VoIP service operates over a broadband internet connection and in most cases you get to keep your current phone number (a once off porting fee of $29.95 applies); The service uses an ATA (Analogue Telephone Adapter) to connect as well as a standard telephone handset.
With included local calls and reduced costs for National and Mobile this solution is perfect for those people wanting a cheaper overall phone package, or simply those home users who make a lot of STD phone calls.
The HD Fibre VoIP phone service is only available with an NBN Fibre Broadband service. A $10 per month bundling discount applies if both services remain active.
HD Fibre VoIP phone is just like a standard phone line, anyone, anywhere in the world can call you just like they would call you on a normal phone.

Fair Use Terms/Policy
This policy is documented to advise the fairness of use for using our HD Fibre VoIP plans and specifically relates to the usage of uncharged calls.
If use of the HD Fibre VoIP plan is excessive or unreasonable we will notify you for immediate transfer to an appropriate plan. If
notification has been made for excessive or unreasonable use and we are not contacted Montimedia reserves the right to limit, cancel or suspend the service if excessive or unreasonable continues.
We may assess abnormal usage based on comparisons to the usage patterns and levels of our other customers. Unlimited calling and other services for all residential plans are based on normal residential use by single family household members.
Combinations of factors are used to determine excessive use, including but not limited to: the number of unique numbers called, international calls forwarded, minutes used and other factors.
Unreasonable use of the service is considered to be;
i) using a device that re routes calls to/from the HD Fibre VoIP service to another VolP network;
ii) using the service in bridging of conference calls
iii) using the HD Fibre VoIP for any other purpose than the primary function of person-to-person voice communication.
iv) Montimedia reserves the right to change this Policy at any time.
HD Fibre VoIP can ordinarily be used to call the emergency number 000, however it should not be taken as a reliable method in an emergency. It is the account holder’s responsibility to ensure that all people who will use this service are aware of this. Priority assistance does not apply to HD Fibre VoIP. For your protection, please ensure you always have an alternative means of dialling the 000 emergency services.

The HD Fibre VoIP service is designed to deliver reliable and high quality traditional phone services. It must be noted though that it is different to the traditional copper based telephone service in several important ways.
Please note that HD Fibre VoIP does not support the ‘Priority Assistance’ service feature for persons with life-threatening medical conditions.
Some people use their current phone service for applications other than voice phone calls – in particular, low speed data communications for third-party services such as medical, safety, fire and security alarms. It may be necessary to look at alternative solutions to deliver these services.
